Root Lights are one-off sculptural luminaires crafted from root-grown material, cultivated and harvested in the MWO atelier from locally germinated seeds. The length of the growth period influences the level of transparency, creating subtle variations in light diffusion and surface texture.
The material is finished with an atelier-made, algae-based varnish. Hand-shaped and sculpted, it transforms into modular lighting pieces that reveal the organic geometry of their growth through light.
